Funny that, because you have been banging on about Diego10's single handed cup win as one of the all time greatest ever achievements in sporting history (who scored 3 pens en route)
Hopefully you will shut up about it now.

Looking forward to seeing a side for the qualifying rounds consisting of;
Stech Oxford Burke Cullen Samuelson Oliveira That lad from Valencia
Mixed with the like of Tomkins / Obiang etc. Will be excellent to see them in a competitive match

Losing to Stoke has created 4 extra matches.
Big mistake.

We've qualified for Europe, I've always seen that as a bonus so what am I missing with all this negativity.

Think so Sidney, yes.... and the play-off could be against quite decent opposition.

We still need to win 2 double legged matches to get to the group stage though don't we?
2 legged 3rd qualifying round and 2 legged playoff to get to groups, no?

Amazes me how many dickheads still seem to think it's EUFA.
Probably the same folk who think it's Maradonna.

Great Lot's of competitions now maybe to many. But like last year we can use the youngsters who are near the first team. Good preparation for them all. Means they will not go out on loan early season. Oxford,Burke,Cullen,Page will be loving this.

Yeh FC just like you omitted..... "although for a significant part of the sports press, its sportive level was lower than that of the UEFA Cup" that came immediately after your C&P.

I would dearly love us to win any sort of cup in Europe but, for me at least, unless it's the European Cup it won't surpass our achievement of 1965
In those days it was hard enough to qualify for a place (win the FA Cup) never mind win it
The UEFA Cup seems contain a mish mash of participants, some of whom haven't really done much to qualify, other than fair play or finish halfway down the domestic league

Pity you didn't C+P the bit before that:
Therefore, a team qualified for both the European Cup and the Cup Winners' Cup would play in the European Cup, whereas a team qualified for both the UEFA Cup and the Cup Winners' Cup would play in the Cup Winners' Cup.
So UEFA regarded the ECWC as more prestigious but commentators and fans regarded the UEFA as more prestigious?
I'm with UEFA here

Wiki....... "Nevertheless, many commentators and fans regarded the Cup Winners' Cup as weaker than the UEFA Cup, which had more and better teams from the stronger European leagues"
